Finding the Acura that Suits You!

4 September, 2008 (01:38) | Cars

Apparently you’re shopping for an Acura and that’s one point for you because Acura makes great cars! Step one is complete. You’ve chosen your make. Step two sometimes gets lost in the jumble of options that are available to potential car buyers. There’s so much to figure out that you tend to get stuck without figuring out anything at all!

Step Two is deciding which model you want to buy. This isn’t the time for spontaneous, instinctive decisions. This is a time for deep thought, meditation and careful planning to make sure you don’t regret your purchase later! There are many models out there to choose from and you can say good things about all of them!

When deciding upon your preferred model, you’ve got to make sure that the model that suits your needs falls within the limitations of your personal budget. You should be able to afford it easily (or at least afford it period!) If you have no idea then throw together a simple budget. Before you can know what you can afford you’ve got to know what you’re already spending.

Experts suggest that the “suggested” amount to budget towards a vehicle would be 20% of your net income, but defining a budget specifically for your own needs works the best. You might find that you can rearrange your spending to accommodate your new car purchase easily.

Make sure your Acura meets your needs. Don’t make exceptions to your standards. If you wanted to have a larger engine make sure the vehicle you’re looking at has just that. If you can’t live without power windows don’t consider a cheaper model because it doesn’t have power windows. If you wanted a sunroof more than anything else. Get a car with a sunroof. If you’ve always wanted XM radio…get a car that has XM radio installed. If fuel economy is your major concern then make sure you get the model with the best EPA ratings.

Four wheel drive? A great sound system? Extra seating? DVD/Navigation system? Outline your needs and wants clearly in writing before you head out shopping and then separate them into two columns: needs and wants. Get as much of your list fulfilled as you can on the budget that you’ve given yourself. The more you’re willing to look; the more likely it is that you’ll find the perfect vehicle!
